Parlo

Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 18, 2026 · Applies to the Parlo apps for iOS and macOS and to parlokey.com

Parlo is built to keep your voice private. Transcription happens on your device, and the app does not collect, sell, or share your personal data.

This policy explains what Parlo does and does not do with your information, both in the apps and on our website. We have kept it plain so there is nothing to decode.

01The Parlo apps (iOS and macOS)

Your voice is transcribed on your device

When you dictate with Parlo, your speech is transcribed using Apple's on device speech recognition, and the cleanup that removes filler and false starts also runs on your device. Your audio is processed on device. Parlo does not store your audio and does not send it to a server.

On device, with one exception worth naming

The first time you use dictation, your device may download Apple's on device speech model over the network. That is a one time setup handled by the operating system. After that, transcription runs on your device. We mention this so we are accurate: Parlo's processing is on device, and we do not claim the app never makes any network connection.

Parlo collects no personal data

Parlo does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. The apps contain no third party analytics SDKs and no advertising SDKs. There is no account to create and no tracking profile built from your use of the app.

Microphone and Speech permissions

Parlo asks for Microphone and Speech Recognition access only so it can transcribe what you say, live and on your device. These permissions are used for that purpose alone. You can review or revoke them at any time in your device settings.

Transcript history sync

Where it is offered, optional transcript history sync uses your own private iCloud to carry your history between your iPhone and Mac. This sync is end to end encrypted, so only your devices can read it. Neither Apple nor Parlo can read your synced transcripts. If you do not turn this on, your transcripts stay on the device where they were created.

In short: your voice and your transcripts stay with you. Parlo is designed so that the words you speak do not have to leave the hardware in your hand.

02The website (parlokey.com)

The email you give us

If you submit your email address through the "Get early access" signup form, we store that email for a single purpose: to contact you about the Parlo beta and launch. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone for their own use.

You can ask us to remove your email at any time. Email us at hello@parlokey.com and we will delete it.

Hosting and standard logs

parlokey.com is hosted on Cloudflare. Like most websites, our hosting provider may process standard technical request data, such as your IP address, in order to serve and protect the site. We do not use this to identify you, and we do not add advertising or cross site tracking to the website.

03Children

Parlo is a general purpose dictation tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

04Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and post the new version at this address. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
